HTC has announced it latest Windows Mobile device, although it’s still using version 5 of the operating system. It looks rather retro and not that dissimilar to some very old devices from the early days of Pocket PC phones.
The hardware is fairly basic, as the P6300 features a 400MHz Samsung processor and a 3.5in LED backlit 240×320 display. Interestingly it has 256MB of ROM and 128MB of RAM which is pretty good for a device in this class.
The P6300 is a tri-band GSM phone with GPRS, but it lacks support for EDGE. However, it does have 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR support, so the lack of 3G might not be a huge issue.
It also has a 2Mega pixel camera, but not flash. It should also have a standard SD card slot with SDIO support.
You can buy one now for £429.95 if you live in the UK or for €649,95 in Euroland from the same company.
We wrote yesterday about the rumors floating around on the net about a Soldier of Fortune sequel. Our colleagues over at Kotaku managed to get a confirmation and some of the early tips.
So here is what is known so far, Activision confirmed that Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back is going to be published by Activision’s Minneapolis office. And that’s that, nothing more. From all that excitement, even Kotaku managed to get just those few words of confirmation. Activision used the rumors just so it can add more heat to, what we think is already a burning situation.
Nevertheless, Kotaku managed to get some tips from a source that claims that he has seen the game in its early stages of development and it looks great. If you played the last SOF you know that they did something called “gore zones”, which means that you could blow off a specific part of an enemy’s body. This time they aim for 36 points on each model. Lots of parts flying if you ask me.
And now for the upsetting part of the tip, apparently this time Raven Soft is not the developer. As we said before, Activision added some heat and will probably keep the barbecue going ’till E3.
We can just wait and hope for the best.

The Polish memory producers have a huge 4GB 900MHz kit to offer.
The fastest available 2×2GB kits we know of work at 800MHz, but GOODRAM/Wilk Elektronik designers managed to squeeze an additional 100MHz out of their modules. Of course, DDR 2 900 memory will work at CL5 but this is quite good for this speed and 2GB modules.
The GOODRAM PRO modules also look very nice, with orange heatsinks and engraved white markings. The “regular” PRO series products have blue heatsinks with white markings. We hope to get our fingers on one of these soon.

Chinese XF forum has some pictures of the new P5K Premium board based on the P35 chipset from Intel. When compared to the P5K Deluxe, it looks like there are some subtle changes. The CPU voltage regulation has been re-worked, for example.
It is already known that Futuremark is currently working hard on the next version in the popular 3DMark series. Codenamed 3DMark Next, the upcoming version will bring DirectX 10 support, will require Windows Vista and will be released by the end of the year. But the 3DMark story won’t be put on pause as Futuremark has one more 3DMark up its sleeve. As stated by Nick Renqvist in a recent blog post, the development of both next generation PC benchmarks is going great and although there is no release date suggested, we might very well see one new 3DMark released this fall and one around mid-2008.

DELL IS SET TO introduce a new widescreen display in July. And after taking a brief look at the revamped line-up, we can confirm that all hell will break loose in this market.
Unlike some crows from ICT press ranting about the size of widescreen market, we have acquired some solid numbers and they speak about explosion in this segment. Expect that 19-inch widescreen announcement from Dell was not the only one, it is just the beginning of a tidal wave among Tier One vendors.
